Remodel II

This are mainly for dad.
As can be seen we finally finished up the tub Friday by getting the texture pretty close and getting everything painted. It appears there are still a few things that can be seen through the paint but one of those things we just need to accept.
We also have not been able to duplicate the popcorn texture on the ceiling, We had one of those spray containers of popcorn but I don't think you can sweep fast enough in "1/2 second" bursts to get the same consistancy- maybe we'll try the paint on stuff next.

As you can see Our wash room finished up nicely- even though our washer outlet hose pops out intermittantly. Got the sanding block holding it in until we make a final decision on how to best set up the laundry.
This is the 3rd room wall- it does have two more coats of mud on it though. should be about ready for texture.

Remodel part 1

So this is our washer and dryer- came with the house- even though I could have found colors this good myself!


There has been some discussion about where to put a bath tub ever since we bought the house. The decision was delayed until we got the word from Dad (paternal side) was coming out. We looked around and found a bath tub- off Craigslist of course- and bought it for a very fair price considering that the cast iron in it was probably worth the price we paid.
Part of the beauty of this house is the 5' x 5' shower that is in the main bath- we found that hard to give up but something had to give. Final result....


We trim down the third room- make a laundry/ craft room and put the tub in the main bathroom. We decided that we didn't want to go downstairs for laundry and that having a tub in the basement would be pretty random without one upstairs.







So we start- measuring is good- closet doors and walls out- we're committed now!

Alright- Jordon back in action between texts to the future gf- ah young love!













Safety first- what is the statistic- 6 times more likely to be hurt at home than at the office...













You can also note the smirks on our faces as we are trying to work... we have a heckler behind the photo lens.

Hmm... may be we should have measured better- nope we still have a whole stick of this pipe to try and win a trip to the urgent care with...














And just because you don't loose a finger or two the first time there is always the second...

So now that we have a drain line- we need water for the washer- you just grab a couple of those brass slide on things and couple the pipes.


















Well come to find out in the directions you have to mark the pipe to make sure the lines get past the sealing orings.


















Nonetheless we got to find out how to pull the couplers apart then assemble correctly-leading to a better customer experience- aka no bathroom flooding.



Finally some reconstruction- sheetrocking and mudding- always good times had by all. Nevertheless Katie did provoke some smiles as only Katie can do as she mocks how the men do their work!















And finally anticipation of the tub- Dad came for a tub placement and ended up with a remodel. Thanks again. More updates to come.

Fall 2011

Bryn was saying hi to the neighbor as I was trying to get her to showcase my original pumkin art- 9530RT John Deere.

Night version with...

...and without the flash- next year we'll figure out how to carve a grain cart or implement behind it.

Fun in the leaves-
While the man is away the girls will play- luckily just in the leaves this time. Bryn sure has fun in them- good thing because we have alot of trees!

2011 Air Show

Saturday at the airshow

First look at the display planes, this was a bomber that you could get up on but the line didn't warrant the wait.

Bryn already thinks she needs expensive toys- even though I was told by the airman that this was one of the most reasonable helicopters that the military owns- as far as that goes.

We have success- the only problem being is that these copters aren't equiped with infant seats and she's out of the 99th percentile

One of the acts, sure would be fun to go for a ride, way better than a roller coaster because the actuality of falling out of the sky is there.

A noted appearance by the stealth bomber- I made a balsa wood one of these in middle school and it didn't need triple redundant computers to fly- course there wasn't room for a lounge chair like these guys have either.

Tuskagee P-51C beautiful plane- that V-12 Rolls is sweet.

In case you can't see that's two thunderbirds crossing paths at 500+ mph.

More thunderbirds, the flight precision is amazing and the afterburners are great for noise even though...

We put earplugs in for Bryn before the thunderbirds came on and she promptly fell asleep, slept through the several low flying jets going 1000 mph+ with full afterburners.
